Blood Pressure

Definition:
Its the lateral pressure exerted by the blood on the blood
vessels while flowing through them.
It is mainly developed due to the pumping action of heart. 2 types of
bp are there... Systolic BP(110 to 140) AND Diastolic BP(60 to 90).
SBP, it always depends on how stretchable your arteries are i.e. the
elasticity of their walls. this elasticity is lost as age progresses.
so normally there will be a slight change in the SBP. Thats why the
experienced docs say that SBP= 100+YOUR AGE. DBP depends upon the
peripheral resistance to the blood flow. This peripheral resistance
depends on the diameter of the blood vessels and also on the viscocity
of blood. The viscocity if increases, the DBP( what you have 100 )
will also increases. Thats why i told you to drink sufficient amount
of water to maintain the viscocity of blood at normal level...

* BP is slightly more in males than in females.
*BP is less during sleep than in awaken state.
*BP increases after a meal.
*Emotions of rage, anxiety, panic, etc lead to a rise in BP.
*Exposure to cold temperature leads to rise of BP.
*BP is also increased during myocardial infraction, circulatory shock,
heart failure ( dont mistake this, it means BP is elevated during
these cases, it doesnt mean increased BP always lead to these
conditions).
