Winter Wonder


Guys this one is not a post in itself. Its a simple and a very useful weight loss tip for ones who are interested in weight loss. 
Since the winter season is going on, the BMR of the body gets raised by 25%-50%. So if one's normal BMR is 1500 in winter it will be raised to around 2000. The more you get exposed to cold the more will be your BMR. So if a person does proper diet and little amount of exercise, he can achieve better results than normal days, I mean spring, autumn n fall. So winter is in dead a boon for those who wish to loose weight. So get out the beds and feel the sunshine...

[Note that its completely normal to have the cravings for heavy fat diets during the winter. But if one controls his cravings and use the advantages of winter for his good its really a boon!]

One more irrelevant but useful tip- Has anybody got the habit of eating saunf(badesoppu or mukhvas in north india)? 

Its called fennel. I remember my ancestors eating pinch of it everyday after meals. It has got really good medicinal values. Its also very cheap. So just wanted  to share some of its uses, so that somebody in need can extract its benefits:
1. Fennel water is used to correct the flatulence.
2. Fennel seeds or tea can relax the intestines and reduce bloating caused by digestive disorder.
3. In the Indian subcontinent, fennel seeds are believed to improve eyesight. Extracts of fennel seed have been shown in animal studies to have a potential use in the treatment of glaucoma.
4. Fennel acts as an effective diuretic and a potential drug for treatment of hypertension.
